What can be Done to Stop it?
Thankfully, it’s not all doom and gloom. There is a light in the darkness, but this issue won’t go away overnight. It needs dedication, from everyone. We all know that countries could turn to renewable energy sources and that there could be fewer harmful gases in the atmosphere, but this doesn’t tell YOU, what YOU can do to help. Here’s what you can do:
GREENER ENERGY – We know that the fossil fuels aren’t good for this planet. Unfortunately however, they are effective in what they do. But just because they’re not eco-friendly, doesn’t mean that you don’t have to be. Not everything in your life has to be done through electrics. You don’t have to dry your clothes in a dryer. Instead, you can hang them up. Weather it’s on a rack, outside, over a radiator, or wherever you can find space. By doing this, you’re using less energy, because you’re not using unnecessary electricity, and you’re saving money too. Now I get that you will have to use electricity, but when you do try to make it green. LED lightbulbs are more efficient and last longer than regular lightbulbs. It’s little things like this that make a big difference, and really don’t affect the way you live your life.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT – As I’ve mentioned there are over 1 billion cars on the roads today around the world. And with all that CO2 being pumped into the atmosphere, you might wonder what you can do to prevent it. Taking public transport as often as you can will reduce the amount of harmful gases in the atmosphere. And even if you don’t like public transport, you can still get around with a bicycle – a mode of transport that only burns calories.

MORE GREEN FOOD – Becoming vegetarian or vegan can help too, even if it’s just one day a week. The amount of meat that we consume worldwide is unbelievable, but we waste so much of it too because it goes off. Greens don’t. Not as quickly anyway, They’re cheaper, good for you, good for the planet and completely renewable, unlike a pack of bacon. Meat does have its positives, but there are so many alternatives out there now that you really won’t be able to tell the difference.

RECYCLE AND REUSE – For years now, people have been recycling, and it’s a good start. The thing is, we need to keep on doing it. So much waste ends up at landfill that is perfectly good to use, or is completely recyclable, it’s staggering, With today’s technology, we can recycle almost anything from electronics to clothes to glass to cardboard. The fewer things we buy, the less need we have for more things to be made. The more we make, the more harmful it is, the more resources it takes, and most importantly the more unnecessary it becomes.

We live a wonderful life. Never before have we had the freedom to go where we want, do want we want with who we want, and learn anything we want, whenever we want. But it comes at a cost. We only have one world. One true home. So we need to take care of it, and never take it for granted. It’s up to us to ensure its survival, and if that means not eating meat for one day, or hanging my clothes outside to dry, then I’m happy to do it. I hope, for the sake of our planet, you are too. So, do some research on how we can live greener and choose ways that your lifestyle can shift to accommodate less of an impact.
