The Types of Teams

Each type of team has its vibe and function, but they all revolve around collaboration and achieving goals together. Let’s break it down:

1. Functional Teams: These are your traditional teams. They’re all about one specific department or function. Think of your HR department or the tech squad. They have a specific area of expertise and stick to it.

2. Cross-functional Teams: This is where things mix up a bit. Members from different departments team up for a common goal. So, you might have someone from sales, marketing, and IT all working together on a project.

3. Project Teams: As the name suggests, these teams come together for a specific project. Once the project wraps up, the team often disbands.

4. Self-managed Teams: This team is about autonomy. There’s no designated leader; instead, they work together, making decisions collectively. It’s about trust and collaboration in its purest form.

5. Virtual Teams: The digital-age team. Members are spread out, maybe across the globe, and they connect via technology. They might be in different time zones but are all working towards the same goal.
