Definition of multiple intelligence

The Multiple Intelligences theory is the idea that people will adapt and learn things via different mediums and methods. It was a theory first suggested by Harvard developmental psychologist, Howard Gardner in 1983.

The theory implies that given each of our brains are unique, that there must be different ways in which we obtain and process information and teachings. The theory was designed to counter the belief that someone who possesses a higher IQ score, is smarter than the next person, and instead points to the idea that they are smarter because they more capable of processing the information because of the way their brain works. There is no right or wrong way to learn things, all that matters is holding on to the information that you’ve been taught.
